The Role of ijtihād in Legislation is originally a lecture delivered by the great Muslim thinker and reformer Āyatullāh Murtaḍā Muṭahharī after the death of Āyatullāh Burūjirdī in 1962, in which he surveys and expounds the concept of ijtihād and its characteristics.
