This book is an attempt at the recollections of the events of the 10th day of Muharram in 1361 AH, where Imam Hussain, son of Ali and Fatima, daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them all) stood against the repressive regime of that time. This led to a confrontation between his kinfolk and companions and Yazid’s vast cavalry, known as the Battle of Karbala, and resulted in the massacre of himself and his men, while surviving members of his family – mostly women and children – were taken captive by Yazid’s army.
